Alexandra Nemeth
Alex had her first taste of climbing mountains during the winter in 2012 when she went on a solo three-week trek in the Nepal Himalayas. This life changing experience inspired her to reach even greater heights by setting one of the biggest goals of her life so far – to climb the ‘Seven Summits’, the highest mountain on each continent.
She began by reaching the first summit Russia’s Elbrus, the highest mountain in Europe, in June 2014 in challenging pre-season conditions. Less than six weeks later, Alex successfully solo climbed Mont Blanc, without a guide, team, support or acclimatisation. Her passion for challenge and adventure allowed Alex to successfully summit Kilimanjaro in September, the second of her Seven Summits. In the same year, she stood on the top of the highest point of Antarctica, Mount Vinson, having then climbed three of the Seven Summits by the end of 2014.
Following months of dedicated training and preparation, Alex summited one of the most difficult challenges yet; North America’s highest peak Denali in June 2015.
Continuing her 100% summit success, she climbed Aconcagua in South America in January 2016, the tallest mountain in the world outside the Himalayas, and stood on the top of Oceania’s highest point, Carstensz Pyramid in Indonesia in March 2017. To gain further experience and confidence in exposed terrain, Alex climbed the Matterhorn in August 2017, without acclimatisation.
After six months of focused training, she stood on the summit of the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest, on the 18th of May 2018.
Having completed the Seven Summits, she set her sights on new challenges. She has spent the last two years exploring breathtaking places such as the Arctic Circle, the Sierra Nevada, Scotland, Pyrenees, the Alps and Patagonia on her mountain bike.
A qualified Mountain Bike Leader, Running Coach and a High Peak Remote First Aider, Alex’s experience, passion and approachable, caring nature make her the perfect guide for The Adventure Boutique. “I really enjoy leading tours, whether it’s a winter snowshoeing or a mountain biking trip. It makes me happy when I can help people realising they can also push their limits and get out of their comfort zone. The sparkle in their eyes when we watch the full moon rising or smiling ear to ear when we ride through the most breathtaking alpine landscape is simply priceless.”
